Wirewerks Above-Ceiling Mounting Bracket Now Available

Wirewerks’ Above-Ceiling Mounting Bracket is a cost-effective, rapid-install mounting bracket used to create a stable platform for permanent link end-points in above-ceiling plenum spaces. Permanent links terminated at the Above-Ceiling Mounting Bracket connect to nearby IP-enabled devices such as cameras, WAPs, and sensors using modular cords or pigtails. Above-Ceiling Mounting Brackets support copper and fiber media and may be used with IEEE PoE and Wirewerks’ exclusive Fiber+Power™ remote power solutions.

The Above-Ceiling Mounting Bracket features a multi-function base plate with pre-drilled fastener holes for surface-mount installations and a removable clamp to attach the base plate to 12 AWG wires or ¼-20 threaded rods used to suspend drop-ceiling systems.

The base plate includes pre-drilled mounting holes for rapid installation of Wirewerks’ Fiber Terminal Boxes, Hybrid Terminal Enclosures or 1/2/4/6-Port Surface-Mount Boxes.

For basic installations without boxes/enclosures, the base plate features four (4) precision punchouts for keystone-style adapters, and provides three (3) raised bridge cable attachment points for strain-relief and service loop management.

The Above-Ceiling Mounting Bracket base plate is fabricated from heavy-duty 18-ga. cold rolled steel (CRS) finished in Silver Cloud powdered paint. The removable clamp is formed from zinc-plated 21-ga. spring steel.

Features & Benefits

  • The Above-Ceiling Mounting Bracket (ACMB) creates a stable platform for permanent link end-points in above-ceiling plenum spaces
    • Networks configured with permanent links allow installation, testing and certification of each link by a skilled network tech, under the network contractor’s scope-of-wor
    • Permanent links allow remote device connections to be completed by the equipment integrator using simple patch cords/pigtails at the time of the device installation
  • The ACMB provides a fixed, stable platform for connectors after termination, protecting the link against performance impairments/degradation associated with unwanted movement of
    cables/connectors
  • While the ACMB provides a fixed platform, it is not permanently installed and may be relocated if/as required; service loops may be used to reserve additional cable for longer reach if required
  • ACMBs are compatible with Wirewerks’ Fiber Terminal Boxes (PDS-0223), Hybrid Terminal Enclosures (PDS-0245), and Wirewerks’ Keywerks-brand 1/2/4/6-Port Surface-Mount Boxes (PDS-0051)
  • Up to four (4) keystone connectors may be installed directly in the base plate, however use of a compatible surface-mount box or enclosure is recommended to better protect cable/connector terminations and provide cable strain-relief
  • ACMBs are ordered under two part numbers: 1) base plate only, with installation fasteners; and, 2) base plate with removable clamp included (and attached), with installation fasteners
  • For broad installation flexibility, ACMBs may be surface mounted or clamped to the suspension wires/rods used in drop-ceiling systems
