Wavecontrol’s main goal is to enable personal safety by creating safe working conditions. The Wavecontrol WaveMon personal EMF monitor is designed with that goal in mind. With the WaveMon, you’ll always be able to avoid overexposure to electromagnetic fields. The WaveControl offers complete peace of mind with visual, audible, and haptic alarms that instantly alert you to EMF overexposure, so you won’t have to spend a moment worrying and can concentrate fully on the job. There are two models of the Wavecontrol WaveMon—check them out below to see which WaveMon is right for you.
Wavecontrol has developed two variants of the WaveMon personal EMF monitor: the WaveMon RF-8 and WaveMon RF-60. The Wavecontrol WaveMon RF-8 uses isotropic, RMS diode technology to measure an electric field frequency range from 300 kHz to 8 GHz and magnetic field frequency range from 25 MHz to 1 GHz. The WaveMon RF-8 provides a weighted response for specific standards including ICNIRP 1998, EMF Directive 2013/35/EU, FCC (Federal Communications Commission), and Safety Code 6 (2015). The Wavecontrol WaveMon RF-60 measures electric fields ranging in frequency from 1 MHz to 60 GHz. The WaveMon RF-60 also provides a weighted response for international standards including ICNIRP 1998, EMF Directive 2013/35/EU, FCC, Safety Code 6 (2015), and NATO standards.
Weighing only 190 grams, both WaveMon models are presented in a slim, portable package that comes with a clip-on holder to easily attach to a worker’s harness, belt, or arm. The WaveMon can also be fastened to a small carabiner to prevent dangerous falls. The WaveMon can be quickly detached from the holder to be moved closer to a source of radiation, and clipped back just as quickly to resume personal monitoring. Each WaveMon is equipped with several high-intensity alarms (6 LEDs for visual alerts, a speaker for auditory alerts, and a vibration motor for haptic alerts) to instantly notify the user when customizable EMF thresholds have been crossed. Powered by two rechargeable AA batteries, the WaveMon can provide up to 200 hours of continuous use—that’s over one month of full working days. And for those times when you’re unable to recharge, the WaveMon also accepts non-rechargeable AA batteries so you can always count on having power.
The Wavecontrol WaveMon personal EMF monitors come with sophisticated datalogging functionality. The waterproof USB port on the bottom of the WaveMon connects to your computer so you can download the EMF data and easily create records and reports. With the WaveMon’s optional built-in GPS and altimeter, your EMF data can be correlated to geographic and altitude information for even more detailed records. Users can also program custom logging and averaging intervals from 1 second to 60 minutes.
Founded in 1997, engineering company Wavecontrol specializes in electromagnetic field measurement. Wavecontrol is doubly headquartered in both Europe (Barcelona, Spain) and the United States (Rutherford, New Jersey). Wavecontrol has an extended global presence, with a distributor network in over 50 countries spread across five continents. Wavecontrol has also implemented ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 quality control standards to further improve its range of EMF measurement products and services.
