Demo hosted by Gap Wireless and DJI Enterprise Will Feature Latest Drone Technology
Attendees at this year’s Ontario Association of Fire Chiefs (OAFC) Trade Show – which takes place at the International Centre in Mississauga May 3-4 – will have an exclusive opportunity to get hands-on with UAV products and solutions for Public Safety applications. Gap Wireless and vendor partner DJI Enterprise will host an off-site demo on Friday, May 3rd from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the GTAA Fire and Emergency Training Institute in Mississauga.
The demo, which will feature DJI Matrice 210 and Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual drones, is just part of the Gap Wireless presence at OAFC which also includes display of multiple partner vendor solutions at the OAFC Gap Wireless Booth #1216 and sponsorship of a coffee break session at the event. Gap Wireless partners with industry leading companies to provide drones, sensors, software, SFOC and regulatory support, ground school training, and drone defence solutions.
“Go big or go home applies to our participation at this year’s OAFC show,” said Kevin Toderel, Product Line Manager, UAV Solutions at Gap Wireless. “Gap Wireless is delighted to highlight the benefits of UAV use for fire departments and other Public Safety organizations to enhance emergency response and post-event assessment.”
Drones provide unique viewpoints and collect data not easily obtained by humans, greatly improving situational awareness and responsiveness. When equipped with video and infrared cameras, drones are highly useful in assessing fire damage, providing insight into critical incidents, monitoring natural disasters such as wildfires or flooding, conducting search and rescue operations, and more. Thermal imaging is particularly useful when smoke is obscuring visibility.
Gap Wireless will share its unique perspective on UAV solutions for Public Safety by shining the spotlight on vendor partner solutions including:
- DJI Enterprise, for which Gap Wireless is an Authorized Distributor, bringing commercial-grade drones to market, including the Matrice 200 Series V2 with enhanced flight performance and much more; the Mavic 2 Enterprise with powerful zoom capability; and the Mavic 2 Enterprise Dual offering both visible and thermal imaging.
- FLIR Systems providing advanced sensing systems including thermal imaging systems, visible-light imaging systems, measurement and diagnostic systems, and advanced threat detection systems;
- Flyability, a Swiss-based company providing collision-tolerant Elios drones that can be operated: indoors; in complex, cluttered and confined spaces; and in contact with people. Elios is unleashing the potential of UAVs in applications where drone use was previously too dangerous or entirely impossible.
OAFC represents Chief Fire Officers from the 442 Fire Departments across Ontario, and the annual trade show attracts fire service manufacturers and suppliers, with an extensive vendor showcase area and fire vehicles on display.
