Wavecontrol Introduces WaveMon EMF Personal Monitor

February 26, 2018

Protecting personnel from unsafe levels of electromagnetic exposure just got easier with the introduction of WaveMon from Wavecontrol, the first EMF Personal Monitor of its kind on the market. The small, light-weight device is designed to be carried by installation and inspection staff at all times, providing high-intensity audible, visual, and vibration alarms when EMF levels are too high.

A special holder accessory available with WaveMon enables fastening the device to a harness, belt or a person’s arm for handheld checking of radiation sources, and it can be fastened to a small carabiner to avoid dropping the device. Powered by two standard AA batteries, WaveMon operates autonomously for 200+ hours before needing batteries to be replaced, or recharged through its USB port.

WaveMon also has a datalogger for continuous data recording, making it easy to create reports and to keep a record of personal exposure data for enhanced safety over time.

This state-of-the-art device can measure the E and H fields, with isotropic RMS sensors and weighted response, to provide direct reading as a percentage of the applicable limit in accordance with international standards on EMF safety (ICNIRP, European Directive 2013/35/EU, FCC and SC6). The WaveMon provides E-field measurements up to 8 GHz, and H field up to 1 GHz.

Wavecontrol, with headquarters locations in Spain and the U.S., has over 20 years of experience designing and developing professional instruments for measurement, monitoring, and evaluation of human exposure to electromagnetic fields.
